I am a Certified Inspector with the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and on the Board of Directors with the Maine Coalition of Home Inspection Professionals (MeCHIPS).
My priority is to clearly explain buildings and systems to the people who will use them. Most house projects are manageable for a homeowner, and having the situation explained and talked through can empower the home buyer to feel confident and comfortable with their purchase.
I produce a short, concise type of inspection report. Unlike other inspectors who use a template program and end up with a 40-70 page report, I handwrite each report. I find that it takes less time, gives me more control and ends up with a 15 page report that shows the results of the inspection with plenty of pictures and doesn't overwhelm clients or realtors.
