REALTOR®
of the Year
Karen Jones
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage
Karen Jones, of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, has been named our REALTOR® of the Year for 2019!
For many years, Karen has been a dedicated volunteer who has served the REALTOR® organization at the local,
state and national levels. She has served on our Board of Directors since 2016, serving as President in 2018, and
currently serves in the role as past president. She is co-chair of our Member Benefits Committee and serves on our
Habitat for Humanity sub-committee and on our Legislative and Political Affairs Committee. In the past, she also chaired
our Events Committee, led our Hands Around the Cove fundraiser and participated in Dancing with the REALTORS®.
She won our Spirit Award in 2015.
At the state level, Karen has served on the MAR Board of Directors, the MAR Foundation Committee, and is currently the chair of its
Communications Committee. She has also served on the Rules and Regulations Task Force at Maine Listings.
She serves on NAR’s Consumer Communications Committee at the national level.
Giving back to the community is very important to her. She has chaired the Falmouth Community Programs Committee for the past 15 years,
and has volunteered at the Preble Street Soup Kitchen for the past 10 years. She also supports the Maine Transplant program,
Boys and Girls Clubs and Breast Cancer Awareness, including promoting 31 Days of Pink on her Facebook page.
In her spare time, she enjoys running, gardening, spending time at her camp and boating, and most importantly, time with her family.

Spirit Award Winner
Paul McKee
Keller Williams Realty – The Hatcher Group
Paul McKee, broker at Keller Williams Realty – the Hatcher Group, is our Spirit Award winner!
Paul has a long history of service to the REALTOR® family and his community.
Paul served at the local level on our Board of Directors for 5 years, as Treasurer in 2014, as President in 2016, and as past president for 2 years after that.
At the state level, he has served on the Maine Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors, and currently serves on its Legislative Committee. He has also served on the Policy and Procedures Committee at Maine Listings.
Paul is also a member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, serving as the local chapter’s treasurer in 2017 and 2018. He has attended various national conferences, including NAR’s Legislative Meetings in Washington D.C.
He supports his community in various ways, including participating in the Cancer Relay For Life, the Southern Maine AIDS Walk, Portland’s Veteran’s Day parades, Portland’s Pride Parades, and at the Preble Street Resource Center.
Paul enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren and bowling in various leagues.

Affiliate of the Year
Hal Tippetts
Steward Title Company
Hal Tiippetts, of Stewart Title Company, is our Affiliate of the Year for 2019!
Hal has been employed in the title insurance industry for over 23 years. During that time, he worked as a salesperson, escrow officer, closer and partner.
Presently, he is Sales Manager for Stewart Title Company. His favorite position will always be closer, because he feels it is such an inspiring event to participate with individuals, couples and families as they experience the process and dream of homeownership.
Hal currently serves as the Affiliate Director for the Greater Portland Board of REALTORS® and on the Legislative and Membership Benefit committees.
He is also a past president and presently serving on the board of the Maine Association of Mortgage Professionals (MAMP) and on the board of HoMEworks.
Hal lives in Cumberland with his wife, two daughters and handsome little dog, Hudson. He has two additional daughters, a son In-law and a one-year old grandson who reside in Utah.
Outside of work, he loves to hike, fly-fish and ski, and has grown to love the mountains, trails and beautiful seacoast of Maine.
